Millboard Cladding

Inspired by the beauty of nature, built to outperform it

Millboard cladding is moulded from selected timbers making it look exceptionally like real wood, whilst avoiding the on-going maintenance associated with natural or wood based products.

The hand colouring of each board recreates the subtle nuances that only natural wood can give. The moulded profiles reduce labour and wastage yet retain the effect of individual boards

The Unique Lastane® layer resists scratches and stains and is designed to withstand demanding outdoor environments.

Millboard is wood-free and non-porous, which means high resistance to algae growth and excellent anti-slip properties.

The dual-tone Lastane® surface is hand tinted using pigments designed to resist fading and sun damage.

Our unique ‘cellular’ internal structure reduces weight while maintaining strength.

Millboard is solid, not hollow, meaning it’s strong and won’t warp, rot like wood, or harbour insects and pests.

The structural core is a blend of natural minerals bonded in a polymer resin with long fibre reinforcement for added strength and durability.

How is Millboard Made?

Millboard composite decking is hand-made in the United Kingdom & styled from real oak timbers, creating an incredible realistic look that captures the natural beauty of wood. But unlike traditional timber – which needs regular on-going maintenance like oiling & sanding to try and stave off rotting, mould, stains, warping, cupping, fading, splinters & a host of other undesirable effects.

Millboard is totally different! This is because unlike traditional timber, or even conventional composite decking WPC (which typically contain half timber fibre / flours / rice husks & half plastic) – Millboard contains no timber, nor any plastic. Millboard composite decking is made from a revolutionary Polyurethane resin, reinforced with mineral fibres plus a unique Lastane® coating. So what is Polyurethane then? It’s a type of elastomer, which is a polymer about half way between a plastic and a rubber. It maintains the rigidity & longevity of plastic, with the suppleness of rubber. This means Millboard feels much more natural under foot, while still offering incredible durability.

Its appearance is a highly convincing timber decking board, with realistic wood grain, tone and texture. This look is achieved through a process of hand-moulding genuine timber boards, which are then hand-tinted, making each piece of Millboard unique.

Of course! – If you would like a sample please contact us and we can send some samples out to you. Please let us know what colour and texture (Board & Batten or Shadown Line) you are thinking about, and any other information about your upcoming project such as sqm2, residential or commerical etc. We can help with your choice and offer tips on getting the most out of Millboard. If you are an Architect, Specifier or a Builder we also have Architect’s Sample Packs available which showcase the full Millboard composite cladding range.

Yes, Millboard is perfectly suited for use as roof decking. For a single ply membrane roof, use our adjustable self-levelling head pedestal systems to avoid any point loading and raise the joists above any standing water, so prolonging their life while also acting to reduce sound transfer. Our pedestal systems allow water to flow freely across and then off the roof membrane

To recreate the aesthetic of natural colour variation, Millboard intentionally adds secondary toning colours. There may be variance within the same board or from board to board in colour tone. This means that samples cut from boards may vary from the general colour of the boarding. Whilst every care is taken to ensure consistency some colour variation from batch to batch may occur. To avoid this, we recommend that you order all you need in one delivery. If you do have different batches it is best to mix the batches to blend the colours.

‘Millboard Envello cladding has no fire rating, the responsibility for the cladding’s suitability in the required location is to be determined by a certified building professional (building control officer, building insurance, fire officer, etc).’

Millboard is rated in decking applications to BAL19.
